our “Library of Alexandria”

For a while, ideas of turning Dadako into an online arcade were mulled over quite seriously. Built completely in Flash with multiplayer this and interconnected that, you could walk from machine to machine and chat to other users. Alas time waits for no-one and the idea faded from view. It’s always been in the rear view mirror as something that could have been.

So for the re-launch of Dadako.com I’ve decided to make it a priority to archive as many defunct online games as possible – that we’ve worked on – into working condition. This does include the legendary “Helpgame” – but it’s not that clear cut. Many of these games relied on multiplayer servers or complex associated file structures that have been lost to the sands of time.
It really is like opening up the back of an old arcade cabinet and rewiring the damn thing, virtually.

Currently we’ve managed to save two games (Build, Aquatris) from obscurity – although they are well over ten years old!

Next up, a surprise. And it won’t be on tape either!
