Marking our 3rd Tokyo Indies presentation, the first one being way back in 2015, Hawken made a short presentation on how Bad Pixels came to be, what trials and tribulations lay in the path of development, and where the game is currently going. He also spoke on some aspects of the TA side of things, such as sprite rendering.

Two of our games, Pirate Pop & Questy Chess, are both a massive 50% off for Black Friday on the itch sale.
Pirate Pop is a solid authentic 8bit game where bubble popping, meets Gravity for frantic, score attack action. Featuring score chasing and some very cool dotmatrix screen effects, this title is sure to get you a retro mood, attacking your senses from the 90s!
Questy Chess is a unique chess-RPG-puzzle hybrid set inside a corrupted 90s computer. With it’s blend of puzzles, minimal graphics and moody drone soundtrack, you’ll see the time fly away with it’s completionist level rating challenges.
So if you have been curious, now is the time! Available for Windows, Mac OSX & Linux.

Questy Chess made its PC debut at BitSummit 13, up on the second floor.
Our little corner ended up attracting a great mix. Seasoned chess players ready to test their instincts, and curious newcomers discovering the game in a completely new way. Watching both groups engage with Questy Chess was equal parts rewarding and eye-opening.
It was our first time showing the game at a trade show, and while it was genuinely a blast, it also came with a very “indie dev reality check.” Our showfloor PC decided to misbehave right out of the gate. But, in true community spirit, an old friend stepped in and saved the day with a spare laptop. We were incredibly grateful for the help.
All in all, it was a fun, slightly chaotic, and very humbling first outing for the PC version of the game.

Picotachi is back! After a 5 year hiatus, ending in 2020 with Picotachi 73, Pico Pico cafe in Tokyo has reopened for Picotachi presentation nights. Our first presentation (Picotachi 4) was way back in 2013, with an iOS game idea. So we are really happy to see it make a comeback.
Hawken made a presentation on the history of our game Questy Chess, and how we ported it to PC and iOS.
